We saw 3 or 4 apartments yesterday…. some were ok, some were taken right away, some were, well… I wouldn’t live there.
I assume that there aren’t any building codes that are followed in this country as we saw places that had bathrooms with toilets, shower heads but no sinks (WTF??) — took me almost a minute to play the ”what’s wrong with this bathroom?” game.
We also some nice neighborhoods – where there’s actual families living not just room salons and PC bongs.
One place was really ugly and “cold” looking on the outside and strangely renovated on the inside – nicely done, minus one wall of “bigger than my head flowers” wallpaper but the layout was all boxy with sharp angles and no where to communally sit and chat and enjoy life.
The place that we’ve settled on, for this week, seeing as something might come up (from past experience) is close to both of our work places which is the key thing. We’ve decided that we want to live somewhere for at least the next 3 or 4 years that is close so that I can finish my masters, he can get to and from work easily (me too but not such a priority as for him), and that is comfortable. It’s smaller than the other places but the location is handy. We want to be somewhat near the action but feel cozy at home at the same time.
We gave up on realtors and used a website where you can privately list your place and then you only use the realtor to assist with drawing up a contract – save a few hundred bucks that way (I think hubby said it would cost 3 or 400 000, versus 50 000 give or take of course). I’ll ask him for the link later if you’re interested (all in Korean but you can search using numerous perimeters so that’s handy, and most have pictures — although the one we might get, I liked the pictures the least ha!)
